I've been making this Meat Loaf for at least 15 years, and everyone in the family likes it.  An interesting sidelight is how the Italian sausage got into the recipe.  My original recipe called for ground pork, but when I went to the store to buy the ingredients, the store had no ground pork, so I decided to try Italian sausage instead.

Meat Loaf Badger

1.3 lb.  Hamburger

.7 lb.   Italian sausage, removed from casing

1 c.     Oats or puffed rice

1 t.     Salt

1 T.     Montreal Steak seasoning

1 T.     Italian seasoning

2 t.     Ground cumin

1 T.     Minced garlic

1 t.     Sage

2        Eggs

4 oz.    Canned green chiles, diced

.5 c.    Shredded cheese (cheddar, 4-cheese Mexican blend, etc.)

.5       Medium onion, finely chopped

.5 c.    Sour cream

1 c.     Kalamata olives, pitted and roughly chopped

2 T.     Worcestershire sauce

Mix the above ingredients and put in a loaf pan.

Cover with a mixture of the following:

.5 c.    BBQ sauce

4 T.     Brown sugar

2 t.     Mustard

·       Bake in a 350° oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
