Fall
Colors Cruise
~~~
2018 ~~~
Near Bar Harbor, Maine
On October
2, 2018, Richard and Carolyn went on an 11-day Fall Colors cruise that
began in Québec City,
Canada and terminated in New York City. We flew to Québec City 2 days before the cruise because we had
never been there before; actually, Carolyn had spent one day there B.R. (Before
Richard), but that was decades ago.
Québec City is a beautiful city (“Dating
to 1608, Québec City retains its old colonial core, Place Royale,
and historic harbor, Vieux Port, now known for nightlife.”), and we
spent 2 nights in the Auberge du Trésor:
“The buildings comprising Auberge du Trésor
and Bistro 1640 are built on a rich historical site. In 1740, a half-timber house
standing at the corner of Sainte-Anne and Du Trésor
becomes the only permanent housing for the French regime in New
France.”
At the end
of the cruise, we spent 3 nights in New York City, staying at the Excelsior
Hotel: 1 block from Central Park; many restaurants in the area; Metro stop
on the same block; the American Museum of Natural History across the
street; and Zabar's delicatessen and coffee was
only 3 blocks away.
Because there are so many
pictures, I have created 3 albums that you may view at your leisure …
or ignore at your leisure.
